On June 8, WestFood's leadership attended the conference on “Promoting Trade and Investment Cooperation between Hanoi and Can Tho,” an important event aimed at strengthening connections between two major economic centers of Vietnam.

At the conference, a WestFood representative delivered remarks on the potential for cooperation in developing agricultural value chains, highlighting the importance of regional linkages in increasing the added value of Vietnamese agricultural products and expanding consumer markets.

As part of the program, WestFood signed Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) with retail partners, aiming to bring the company's fruit and processed food products closer to consumers in the capital. The agreements were among 18 MOUs signed at the conference across the fields of investment, industry, logistics, trade, and tourism.

The event took place against a backdrop of complementary strengths between Hanoi and Can Tho within Vietnam's national supply chain. While Hanoi serves as a major center for markets, finance, science and technology, and goods distribution, Can Tho is a key hub for production, processing, logistics, and the supply of goods from the Mekong Delta. Strengthening cooperation between the two localities is expected to help establish a North-South economic linkage and create momentum for the development of sustainable agricultural supply chains.

According to leaders of the two localities, many OCOP products, agricultural products, processed foods, and local specialties from Can Tho have increasingly entered modern distribution systems in Hanoi. Can Tho currently has 169 safe food supply chains, including 10 high-quality chains supplying products to the Hanoi market.

At the conference, the two localities also agreed to further promote supply-demand connection activities and expand markets for key products from Can Tho and the Mekong Delta, including high-quality rice, fruits, seafood, processed foods, and OCOP products. Following the conference, Hanoi businesses are expected to bring more than 100 tons of agricultural products from Can Tho into distribution networks across the capital.

For WestFood, participating in the conference and signing cooperation agreements with retail partners not only opens up new opportunities for domestic market expansion but also reaffirms the company's commitment to bringing high-quality processed Vietnamese agricultural products closer to consumers. At the same time, the company aims to contribute to building sustainable agricultural value chains and enhancing the position of Vietnamese agricultural products in both domestic and international markets.
